The Study is run in a dedicated space within a private residence and was originally intended for the creators' direct communities. In opening up this experience more broadly to immersive art enthusiasts in Seattle, it's worth reviewing some safety and accessibility details. These are in progress and will likely evolve over the show's run.
A host will unlock the door when you arrive, and your entry and exit will be contactless. The room is on the ground floor, directly accessible from a small foyer. All other residential spaces are on other floors and are kept separate from your visit. The show is run remotely by a host, and you will not interact with them unless you need assistance (press the smart doorbell button to contact the host). The door to the Study will remain unlocked during your visit and you may leave at any time.
Your onsite orientation will include a directive that phones, watches and timekeeping devices are not allowed in the room. This is for immersion and specific story elements. If you prefer to keep your devices for any other reason, you may bring them in with you, but we highly recommend not using them during your experience.
There are several cameras in use as part of running the Study. An exterior smart doorbell camera is used for general security and access needs. There is a camera in the foyer, and a camera in the room. No interior video is recorded, or used for any purpose other than running the show and ensuring the security of the space and its occupants.
The Study is at ground level, and there are no stairs required for entry or exit. The experience includes shifting and intense lighting effects and a few brief periods of near-darkness, but no strobing or flashing lights. There are some moderately loud sound effects, and several aspects of the experience are audio-only. The found-footage elements do not currently include captions. There is no restroom attached to the Study--please contact the host if you need restroom access.
If you have any questions or topics to discuss ahead of your visit, please reply to any of the e-mails you received after you registered. Thank you!
